Sysgen Media is proud to announce the release of the latest version of our Image Calendar for Joomla!, Image Calendar v1.4.0. This is a major release, beginning with integrated support for Joomla 1.6/1.7. In addition to now supporting the full Joomla line of products, we also included integration with the Joomla media selector to make it easier to select images from all your media folders. We added End Date support so events can span multiple days, and date/time formatting options to make international datetime formats more easily changed. Along with all these great changes, we fixed a lot of bugs and tweaked where necessary based on feedback from our users. Enjoy!
Sysgen Media is proud to announce the immediate availability of the latest version of our Store Locator for Joomla.
Version 1.6.1 adds support for Joomla 1.7 with complete compatibility for Joomla 1.5 & Joomla 1.6 in the same file.
In addition many other features were updated and improved in version 1.6.0 that we can now bring to the latest version of the Joomla family. In 1.6.0 we added a new Frond-end Filter to show only Featured items, as well as enhanced support for international languages. We also updated the CSV imported to provide better feedback and error handling of imported locations. Visit our site to learn more and see a demo or check out the Changelog for additional details.

Hi All,
We have finally updated our FREE module for Joomla: OpenX Single Page Call. OpenX Single Page Call allows you to easily implement your OpenX tags into your Joomla site via a Single Page Call. Instead of making several calls to the ad server for pages with multiple ads, a single call loads the page much faster, without the delays associated with rendering each zone individually.
We added support for Joomla! 1.6. This is our first Joomla! 1.6 Native module and we are very excited to have it out in the market. Please try it out and let us know if you have any suggestions or feature improvements.
Thanks,
Sysgen Media, Joomla Development Team
Sysgen Media is proud to announce the release of our latest revision of our Image Calendar Component for Joomla 1.5. We know its been a long time coming, and we didn’t want to wait any longer so we made a minor release with some great features.
In this release we have added Forward and Back navigation for the Month view, so that you users can now browse your calendar throughout time and see whats coming in the months ahead. We also added support for User Access levels (Public, Registered, Special) and added support for the Published and Unpublished state of individual calendar events.

With SEO being such a big part of web development, it would be good to know some tools to help evaluate progress and how well your optimizations are going. Thankfully there are numerous sources to reference as well as free easy to use tools that will come in handy.
If your project is to SEO an existing site I’d recommend running some of these reports before beginning the project. This will allow you to show the client or whomever at the end of the project how well you were able to improve their site. It will also give you an idea of what to look for if you are unfamiliar with SEO or what needs the most work on a particular site. Read the rest of this entry »
I’m not really sure how I stumbled across this wonderful, simple tool, but SEOFeast (seofeast.com) has been an incredible resource to me in the last few days. It a website that packs a whole lot of functionality into it’s single page, yet remains lightweight, well-designed, and uncluttered.
The page is essentially just a tool to check out information related to SEO about any website with just a few clicks. Simply type in the domain you want info on, and select any of the various types of information you want. Some examples of what is available are: Yahoo! Incoming links, Google Incoming Links, Google Pagerank, Domain Age, and Whois info. Interestingly, they also have tools that will validate your html via W3C and your CSS.
Maybe one of the coolest features though, is that they’ll display a history of each statistic you request from them. For example, here is a screenshot, and an enlarged photo of a search of Yahoo! Incoming Links for SysgenMedia.com:

Overall, SEOFeast isn’t offering any new, groundbreaking tools… and it isn’t even offering any services that are difficult to find for free elsewhere. But what it does do is place all of these tools at your fingertips on a single page instead of making you track down the various pages where you would normally need to go to find all of this disparate info.
So, for all of us out there, I’d like to thank the guys over at SEOFeast for a job well done. Keep up the good work guys!
